Pumped up: Isuzu Engines visit Agfest

As the name suggests, Tasmania’s Agfest is a celebration of all things agricultural. Isuzu Engines visited in early May with an exciting array of off-highway engines as well as some agricultural and irrigation solutions for Australian farmers. Isuzu Engines returned to Agfest in Carrick, Tasmania, held between 3-5 May 2018. This year’s event celebrated 36 years of agricultural know-how and the organisers weren’t short of a crowd, revelling in a record patronage of 65,794 visitors over the three-day event, up 3,007 on last year’s attendance. Bringing its product direct to the customer, Isuzu Engines once more showcased their reliable selection of off-highway power units. IAL’s Engine Sales Manager, Rod Best, said a set of favourable conditions combined to create a successful and memorable Agfest 2018. “In terms of enquiries, irrigation was the focus for a lot of our visitors this year – particularly power units ranging from 25-70 horsepower,” he said. “There’s a genuine thirst for knowledge at these events and it’s an excellent opportunity to meet with customers working across a variety of applications.” Agfest signals the beginning of a busy schedule for the Engines team, with their next stop being the Irrigation Australia conference and exhibition in Sydney next month. “Agfest is a great event and gives us a great opportunity to showcase our off-highway power units,” Mr Best said. “When it comes to irrigation or agricultural applications, it’s important that we make sure people have the right product for the right application. “We’re aiming to empower our customers by supplying the power unit solution that is most suited to their specific needs.” The Power Units on display at Agfest were:
  • 3CB1 Radiator Cooled
  • 3CE1 Radiator Cooled
  • 4LE1 Radiator Cooled
  • 6BG1QW Radiator Cooled
  • 4BG1 Radiator Cooled
  • 4JG1 Radiator Cooled

New Zone Manager for WA & SA kicking goals

In 2017 Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) announced the appointment of Craig White to the position of Dealer Sales Manager for Western Australia (WA), South Australia (SA) and the Northern Territory (NT). Mr White has brought with him a raft of valuable experience and overseen significant growth. Before starting at IAL, he worked for three years at Mitsubishi Australia Ltd as Area Sales Manager for Western Australia. Prior to that Mr White was the Key Account Manager for Michelin Australia in WA where he dealt exclusively with trucks. Mr White expanded on what he wanted to bring to the role personally and his strategic view of Isuzu’s role in the transport market in WA, SA and the NT. “Firstly, I’d like to say how excited I am to be working for Isuzu as they push toward their 30th consecutive year as Australia’s number one selling truck brand,” Mr White said “especially with the exciting products and programs that are in place for 2018 and beyond. “Results are obviously key to any organisation and I want to help drive those by formalising processes that previously might have been a bit ad-hoc.” IAL National Sales Manager, Les Spaltman, said he was excited about the skill-set and energy that Craig White was bringing to the Isuzu team as well as some very robust results. “We’re thrilled to have Craig on board with Isuzu. He brings not only a lot of valuable insights and experience to the position but some strong ideas and energy,” Mr Spaltman said. “Craig has been driving very strong dealer results. Deliveries are up 16 per cent in WA and 21 per cent in SA compared to this time last year, which is terrific news on Isuzu’s quest to hit 30 years of consecutive market leadership.”
