Sunshine and smiles were the order of the day at the Sherrin Rentals facility in Pinkenba, Brisbane, as the local civil and equipment hire specialists took delivery of the 250,000th Isuzu truck to be sold in Australia last week. Sherrin Rentals (comprising one part of the Sherrin Group business alongside Sherrin Equipment) received the keys to a brand-new medium-duty FRR 110-260 MWB Auto, fitted with a 13-metre elevated work platform, and processed through the Brisbane Isuzu dealership. The delivery marks an important 250,000 trucks sold for Isuzu, and another notch in the belt as the brand celebrates its 50th year selling trucks in Australia and 33 consecutive years as truck market leader. Steven Goulding, Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) Fleet Sales Manager for Queensland & Northern Territory, was delighted to be in attendance for the historic handover. “It’s fantastic to be standing here today, having worked with the Sherrin family and the business for a long time,” said Mr Goulding. “The addition of this truck to their fleet reflects not only their support for us, but how strongly the Isuzu product has supported businesses over the 50 years we’ve been operating in Australia.

“For fleets like Sherrin, having the comfort of the market leader behind them and our broad product range of over 200 models to specify from gives them peace of mind you just can’t find elsewhere. “As far as Isuzu’s concerned, reliability is everything. Our dealer network—such as the team at Brisbane Isuzu—help us in making sure we live by those words.” Grant Sherrin, Managing Director of Sherrin Rentals, shared details of the new FRR 110-260 with 13-metre elevated work platform, which was designed, manufactured and painted in striking company colours on-site at their purpose-built Pinkenba workshop. “This particular model was chosen for its payload capability and its suitability to match our body build with the correct distribution of weight over the axles,” he explained. “The reliability of the product and it being fit-for-purpose are also factors… we’ve been very happy with the performance of Isuzu as Sherrin Rentals continues to expand.” Mr Sherrin also commented on the relationship between their preferred truck brand and theBrisbane Isuzu Eagle Farm, noting a partnership that dates back decades but that has grown strongly over the past two years. “Our history with Isuzu dates back to 1977 and today, we run about 140 Isuzu trucks in our fleet throughout Australia,” Mr Sherrin said. “With this history behind us, it’s quite special sharing this moment with the brand, purchasing the 250,000th truck. “We will continue to grow our Isuzu fleet over the coming years—they make a great truck, but the national footprint and service they provide for us, and the support we get from Brisbane Isuzu is critical to operations. “It all adds up to quite an attractive package for the business.” Oscar Akbar, Truck Salesman at Brisbane Isuzu Eagle Farm, said the dealership team was incredibly pleased to facilitate the sale to a loyal customer with such strong ties to local industry. “Being on this journey with Sherrin Rentals and being here for the delivery of the 250,000th truck is a very auspicious occasion for Brisbane Isuzu,” said Mr Akbar. “We’ve had a long, outstanding relationship with the Sherrin family, which I believe remains strong because our core values of conduct, capability, performance and integrity are well-matched. “It’s very motivational... I hope I am involved in the delivery of the 300,000th Isuzu truck in the future!” Sherrin Rentals recently took delivery of the lucky 250,000th Isuzu truck, coinciding with Isuzu’s 50th anniversary of selling trucks in Australia!
