Nov 13, 2024 4min read

Tricked-out trucks were the theme for this month’s Truck of the Year round, which closed on 31 October—Halloween!

The judging panel was treated to a goodie bag of entries from Isuzus used in earthworks, removals, produce transport, construction, house renovation, and steelworks, showcasing a range of proud Aussie businesses who know how to make the most of their trucks.

Trick or treat

As the end of the year and the grand final of the 2024 Truck of the Year competition approaches, it’s a fine opportunity to take a look at the sweet treats on offer from Isuzu Trucks.

For each month of the competition, a winner is selected from the pool of entrants and receives the title of Truck of the Month, scoring an Isuzu merchandise pack valued at over $300 RRP.

All 2024 Trucks of the Month are then entered into the ‘Series’ rounds at the end of the year, from which one N Series Winner, F Series Winner, FX Series Winner, and FY Series Winner are selected.

The ‘Series Kings’ each receive a $1,000 prepaid Visa cash card.

Out of our four series ‘Kings’ the ultimate Grand Prize Winner is selected, driving away with a $6,000 prepaid Visa cash card and the title of Truck of the Year for 2024.

October Truck of the Month

Congratulations to Dean Lamb and Watts Fresh of Kyneton, Victoria, who brought it home in time for harvest with a customised FXY 240-350 curtainside truck!

Watts Fresh wins the monthly prize—an Isuzu merchandise pack valued at over $300 RRP—and has the chance of winning the FX Series prize at the end of the year.

Watts Fresh

The Watts Fresh delivery truck is busy providing the regional town of Kyneton in Victoria with local deli goods, health foods, fruits and vegetables.

The FXY 240-350 6x4, which features a GVM of 24,000 kg, can be relied on to keep drivers comfortable and have payload a-plenty for heavy produce, supported by its Hendrickson rear airbag suspension system.

“Our FXY 240-350 has a custom insulated side curtain to keep our produce fresh,” adds Dean Lamb.

Boss Earthmoving Group Pty Ltd

Hailing from the sunny state of Queensland, Sean Kerr and Boss Earthmoving Group showcase how their Isuzu F Series truck puts the pedal to the metal, helping to cart earthmoving equipment and staff to job sites.

“I can't go past the reliability and how eye-catching my Isuzu is,” says Sean.

Proconstruct WA

Glenn Morrow and Proconstruct WA based out of the Pilbara have entered an NPR 45-155 Traypack which has been finished with a sleek black wrap and a load of useful parts and accessories to help them get the job done.

“Our immaculate NPR Traypack has been upgraded with the following features to maximise efficiency on the job site: a genuine Isuzu light bar, flood lights, 200-litre fuel tank, black window tinting, plus custom toolboxes, three black powder coated ladder racks, an upgraded towbar, and REDARC electric brake towing system,” notes Glenn.

Wyndham Steel Solutions

Addressing Melbourne's structural steel fabrication needs, Wyndham Steel Solutions and Noah Piggot have entered an unmissable FRR 110-240 with a crane, and smartly customised with a semi-matt gloss tray and an eye-catching wrap.

“The FRR is a purpose-built truck for structural steel and brick steel lintel services, which catches many eyes on the road,” says Noah.

“It has a Ferrari crane installed on the back, complementing the truck's capability and capacity for our operations.”

Renovatrix

This feisty NPR 45-150 Crew has been entered by Jared Smith of Renovatrix in Tasmania. Servicing the north and northwest of the island, this outfit specialises in bathroom makeovers and renovations.

“It’s the perfect size for what I need to carry and get the crew to work—and the NPR can be driven on a standard car licence.”

Sleek Home Servicing

Bundaberg's pressure washing specialists Sleek Home Servicing have entered a true blue NLR 45-150 Traypack (medium wheelbase) with plenty of space for transporting equipment and a fresh, all-over wrap to complete the setup.

One of Isuzu’s best-selling models, the NLR Traypack comes ready to tackle just about any job, with a heavy-duty aluminium tray, removable drop sides and tailgate, and integrated load restraint anchor points, amongst a host of other work-smart features.

“The bright blue colours and vivid signwriting really make my Traypack stand out from the rest,” says Reilly Bellman.

Balonne Betta

Brett Nosse from St George in Queensland shares happy memories of his ute-to-truck upgrade, with a brand-new NLR 45-150 now hard at work delivering furniture and electricals for Balonne Betta.

“The NLR 45-150 is our first ever truck! Our family business ran a 1970s Isuzu ute named the ‘Green Frog’ after its colour, so our new truck has been named the ‘Frog2.’

“While it's not the biggest truck on the road, to us, it's our prince charming,” explains Brett.
