Apr 10, 2025 2min read

Welcome back to another exciting year of our legendary truck-appreciation competition, Isuzu’s Truck of the Year—the longest-running competition of its kind in Australia!

We are thrilled to be kicking things off again by bringing the best and brightest Isuzus to a screen near you. If you missed the announcement on who won the title of 2024 Truck of the Year, you can read it here.

While summer is gone and the autumn chill is tickling our toes, the competition is only going to heat up from here because this month has loads of hot Isuzu rigs for your enjoyment.

Up for grabs

The 2025 competition has nine monthly rounds, running from March until November.

There are loads of ways to win. For those lucky enough to be chosen as a monthly winner, Isuzu will send home a bag of swag: an Isuzu Trucks merchandise pack valued at $300 RRP.

For Series winners—one each from the N, F, FX/FY truck series—a $1,500 cash prize is awarded at the end of the year.

Then, one of these three kingpins will go on to win the ultimate title of Isuzu’s Truck of the Year and the massive Grand Prize of $6,000.

If you are ready to show off your Isuzu truck, you can find instructions on how to enter and a full list of terms and conditions at isuzu.com.au/news/truck-of-the-year.

March Truck of the Year

Without further ado... congratulations to Jason Styles of Ecotrans, who entered the race with a hardworking FVL 240-300!

Ecotrans takes out the monthly merch prize for March and is now in the running to win the title of King of the F Series at the end of the year.

Ecotrans

Jason Styles, Managing Director of Ecotrans shared a wow-worthy tale of how one of his FVL 240-300 waste collection trucks was called in to take on a very special job.

“This Ecotrans Isuzu truck was used to recover a Formula 1 car at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne,” he shares.

“The branding on the truck, combined with its presence, made it look very professional in this high-profile situation; it's not every day that a waste and recycling company’s truck plays a role in a world-class motorsport event.”

Underground Towing and Salvage

Joshua Harrison from Underground Towing and Salvage entered this tricked-out FRD 110-260, which can be found traversing the streets and underground carparks of Canberra.

With custom toolboxes and tray, it's clear that a lot of love went into the planning of this truck, which tackles a 24/7 callout service for breakdowns and accident towing.

“The paint and chrome on my Isuzu truck really finish off my rig,” notes Joshua.

Gina Rand

Gina Rand from the Victorian town of Goorambat has only praise for her Isuzu NPR 65-190 Crew Cab which she collected from Double R Trucks in Tamworth. There is plenty of space for friends and the family dog to tag along to dressage and horse competitions in New South Wales and Victoria.

“Our Isuzu NPR 65-190 Crew Cab is ideal for towing a 4.5-tonne gooseneck trailer that houses our large Warmblood horses that compete in Dressage, Show Hunter and Jumping.

“The Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) is perfect for towing horses. The smooth take off and gentle gear changes provide a comfortable ride so that our horses arrive at the competition calm, fresh and ready to go.”

ABC Building Supplies

NSW Jimmy Wu says the NLR 45-150 Traypack is the perfect match for ABC Building Supplies, boosting productivity and delivering supplies and material on the job.

“My Isuzu truck works efficiently and is easy to drive and load, making it an excellent asset for our business.

“Our Traypack helps us provide exceptional service for our customers, ensuring reliable and timely delivery of our plasterboard and construction materials.”

Tony Latimer

Hailing from the Southeast Queensland suburb of Nerang, Tony Latimer has entered his classic Isuzu NQR 450 that has surely seen some sights around the country.

“Our Isuzu NQR 450 is easy to drive and as comfortable as a car, plus it carries our Winnebago Motor Homebody on the back.

“Still going strong, we have owned it for 13 years and clocked up nearly 78,000 km. We've been customers of Isuzu since the date of purchase and have always been impressed with the high quality of their customer care and servicing.”

Graeme Smith

Zooming out of Tailem Bend in South Australia, Graeme Smith has entered this highly practical Isuzu NLS 45-150 all-wheel drive, which has had many an epic journey, including a jaunt from Coober Pedy in South Australia to the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland.

“Our Isuzu NLS AWD truck is the basis of our adventure rig, which sees it carrying our Beyond slide-on camper and towing our Imexus 28 crossover trailer powerboat.

“The 4,500 kg GVM and 8,000 kg GCM make this all possible.”

Greenskips

Nestled in the idyllic Tambourine Mountain region of Southeast Queensland, Greenskips’ Adam Pearson has entered his newest Isuzu truck, an FVR 165-300.

“We think our Isuzu is one of the best-looking skip bin trucks around,” said Adam.

“We try to make each Isuzu truck we buy better than the last, and I think with our new FVR 165-300, which has a Westrans skip lifter and our company colour scheme and logos, we’ve done it again!”
