With the weather turning chilly in the southern states and cooler nights on the horizon for the warmer parts of the country, Isuzu’s Truck of the Year competition is letting the blazing passion of Isuzu truck owners warm their trucking spirit. It is indeed heart-warming to see an Isuzu truck become more than just a piece of equipment for a business, but a part of the family. All the entrants in the March round of the Truck of the Year competition have stories to tell about their beloved Isuzu and the role it plays in their lives, businesses, and families. Each month a winner is selected who scores an Isuzu merchandise prize pack valued at $300, and the chance to be crowned the “King” of their truck series. You can check out the terms and conditions here, or enter your Isuzu truck at www.isuzu.com.au. This month’s lucky winner is Dylan Bourke from Tasmania with his NQR 87-190 Tipper, used in his business DJ Bourke Excavations. Dylan is now in the running to be crowned King of the N Series for 2023!
CONGRATULATIONS TO DJ BOURKE EXCAVATIONS AND THEIR NQR TIPPER
DJ BOURKE EXCAVATIONS
Based in Tasmania, Dylan Bourke puts his NQR 87-190 Tipper to good use in his business DJ Bourke Excavations. With enough payload to carry a backhoe and towing capacity to haul his skid steer around, Dylan has a self-contained excavation set-up, ready to tackle just about any job. With distinctive signage and insignia wrapping the truck, you won’t be able to miss it on the roads of Tasmania.
MITCH GRADY CONSTRUCTION
Mitchell Grady, based out of Dubbo in New South Wales, has an unmissable and eye-catching black and red wrap on this new 2022 NPR 45/55-155 TRADEPACK! “My NPR is one of a kind,” Mitch proudly stated. It’s no doubt that a lot of love and planning has been put into Mitch’s new Isuzu, which he puts to use at Mitch Grady Construction.
TOWER DOGS
This totally tricked out NLS 45-150, belonging to Jay Hampton of Tower Dogs in New South Wales, is a bit of a showstopper! “Our little NLS has been fitted out with Service Bodies Australia (SBA) toolboxes,” Jay said proudly. “We also have custom number plates, decal wrap, driving lights and a winch.”
TJM EARTHWORKS
This photo shows that you never know where an Isuzu truck might turn up. Turning heads outside the Sydney Opera House, this Isuzu FYJ 300-350 belonging to Alexander Milgate of TJM Earthworks has a bright blue wrap that can’t be missed. “I love how comfortable the truck is to drive,” said Alexander. “It definitely gets the job done and the colours really make it stand out from the crowd!”
KP PERFORMANCE HORSES
This NPR 65-190 Crew Cab dubbed ‘Maggie,’ is the backbone of KP Performance Horses and can always be relied upon by owner Katrina Alexander. “Carting hay and feed and towing a 35ft gooseneck trailer with our beloved competition horses all over the Queensland - are some of the big jobs that Maggie does for us. “She’s the first thing everyone sees when we roll into a show with a pink aerial and spotlights to boot. Always reliable and always pulling a crowd, Maggie and the gooseneck horse trailer were recently featured in the Horse Deals Magazine - Dream Rigs Section. “We couldn’t do what we love without Maggie. She’s our absolute pride and joy,” Katina said.
BANDICOOT TILT N TRANSPORT
Di Jonsen of Bandicoot Tilt N Transport is based in the Northern Territory with their lively NLR 55-150 TRI-TIPPER and is a part of the family. “Our little truck is very versatile,” said Di. “From doing school drop offs to carting mangoes and with the plant trailer on becomes a force to be reckoned with.”
DECEPTION BAY REMOVALS
Chris Laidlaw in Deception Bay, Queensland is a tried-and-true Isuzu Trucks fan! With his classic FSR 500 he keeps his removalist company motoring along. “I have had newer trucks and older trucks from other brands, but nothing compares to my FSR 500,” said Chris. “My Isuzu is a great reliable truck even with its age, it’s versatile and pretty much goes all day and night long without a fuss.” You couldn’t ask for better than that.
ROSEHILL LIVESTOCK
Debbie Belcec of Rosehill Livestock in New South Wales uses her 2016 Isuzu FVD 165-300 to support her livestock business. “This is the best truck we've owned from carting stock during the week to getting the horses to campdrafts on the weekend,” Said Debbie. “Reliable and great to drive.”
GEOFF JAKINS
Based in New South Wales Geoff Jakins puts his NLR 45-150 MWB TRAYPACK to some hard yakka and has found it perfect for navigating tricky areas on building sites and moving around the suburbs. “The truck is skinny enough to get in most driveways and I've built a double decker tray on it so that I can access all my tools even when I have a full tray of timber and gear.”
GARDEN VOGUE
Belinda Obrien from Garden Vogue in New South Wales is a big fan of her NPR 45-155 MWB TRADEPACK Nothing beats having a work vehicle that not only does the job but is a joy to operate and pilot. “My Isuzu truck looks awesome!” exclaimed Belinda. “Everyone comments on it, and it is always turning heads and getting attention, but most importantly I love it!” Looking to share your Isuzu Trucks love these holidays?
