Hot Blogs: Your Favourite Blogs Of 2018

Dec 20, 2018 0min read

From brain fatigue and long-haul driving tips through to handy recruitment advice, it was a mixed bag of Isuzu blog content that raised your eyebrows in 2018.

With everything happening in our industry, it’s no wonder there was a range of topics that peaked our readers’ interest, but as always, some tried and tested favourites rose to the top of the list. Here’s a rundown on the most popular Isuzu blogs for 2018. Fatigue matters Back in March we applied the microscope to driving fatigue, posing the question, what really happens to our brains once fatigue sets in? Turning to the experts, the results were fascinating indeed, but the good news is that with some insight, preparation and precaution, it can all be managed — making for safer roads and happier truckies. Lifesaving tech Without a doubt, any content we post about our emergency services personnel, their specialised equipment and especially their life saving trucks, are always well received. This blog from February, about lifesaving technology used by our fire fighters, paramedics and SES volunteers was no exception either, with a huge response from you, our readers. We need you! The great truck driver shortage has become a critical discussion point for road transport industries across the world. In Australia, the sector is constantly on the lookout for more newcomers to join a diverse and rewarding industry, especially as the current pool of professional drivers begin to hang up the high-viz and move away from trucking. In this popular post from October, we posed a few questions of our own, such as how does one become a truckie? What is exciting about this profession? And perhaps most importantly, — how do we encourage more drivers into our industry? In it for the long haul The Bruce, the Hume, the Pacific and the New England. Many of our readers will have a love, hate relationship with some of these names, although there is one thing they all have in common…they’re long, tough and uncompromising. Back in May, we took a look at three critical tips to help you wrangle some of the highways above, including some basic fatigue management tips, route planning advice and how to stay connected to friends and family during those intrastate runs. We’re glad that you found these tips useful! Fight fire with fire Yet another emergency services blog made the cut in 2018, with our February coverage of ‘What makes a fire truck extraordinary?’, striking a chord with you. And we can see why. Our fire services are made of lionhearted men and women putting their lives on the line to keep us safe. It’s only fair then, that these heroes are adequately supported with the best equipment available — to help them get the most difficult jobs done. As we race toward another hot and dry Australian summer, its timely to take another look at some of the thought and management that goes on behind the scenes to protect person and property from bush fires during this season. Until next year… Well, that’s a wrap for 2018 as we say farewell to what has been an informative and engaging year, bringing you all the most comprehensive resource of industry related content and information. We’ll be back next year with a fresh perspective on all things trucking. Until then, from all the team at Isuzu Trucks, we’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a safe and relaxing holiday season! See you in 2019!
