Power and payload is where the FX and FY cut their teeth, offering impressive GVM and GCM ratings, and the updated range benefits from the introduction of eight new models to the FX range and an additional three to the FY range. Some of the broad improvements include new coolant temperature gauges, relocated height sensors, uprated alternator (to 90A), and standardising tail lamp connectors and ABS connectors for towing across various models. Now coming as standard across all FX and FY models, is the addition of satellite navigation. Other changes include the FYJ, FXZ, and FXY Auto Medium wheelbase models with driveline specified for short distance construction applications, and the associated stop-start, low-speed driving.

2017 Recap

IAL headquarters IAL announced the construction of a state-of-the-art new head office, expected to be complete by February 2018. Once completed, the over 21,000 square-metre facility on the corner of Doherty’s Road and Foundation Road in Derrimut will provide the ideal location to service industry and for IAL’s continued focus on the Isuzu Care Program, the Isuzu Parts department and brand-new technical training centre. The 15-acre site will also host IAL’s national head office, a showroom, engineering and parts facilities, administration and sales department, and off-highway engines team. Isuzu and Milwaukee tool up together IAL and Milwaukee Tool kicked off 2017 with a bang by offering the contest of the year: the chance to win an Isuzu NLR 45-150 Short Wheel Base Premium Servicepack and $10,000 worth of Milwaukee tools. Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) handed over the keys to a one-of-a-kind Isuzu Ready to Work NLR 45-150 Servicepack – packed with $10,000 worth of heavy duty Milwaukee power tools – to lucky Adelaide concreter Ryan Dolan. The best part of the year Forget the Oscars, early in the calendar year Isuzu Trucks host their own awards spectacular, where some of the best performing dealerships and individuals get their due in the form of industry-wide recognition from Australia’s top-selling truck brand. This year’s IAL National Dealer of the Year award was presented to Ballarat Isuzu and Dealer Principal Ian Deacon. Paul Cooper of Winter & Taylor Isuzu, Geelong, was crowned the Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) 2016 National Team Elite Sales Champion. Also of note, Customer Care Specialists Garry Francke and Craig Marquis, of Western Australia’s Major Motors and South Australia’s North East Isuzu respectively, jointly won the prestigious 2016 Isuzu Care Award. Back to Brissie Isuzu returned to Queensland this year to participate in the 50th anniversary of the Brisbane Truck Show, which ran from May 25 to 28. IAL was in the thick of the action at this premier event, showcasing no less than 11 trucks at an all-new, purpose built stand. These trucks traversed the Isuzu range; from the hugely popular, no nonsense N Series Ready to Work models, right up the weight scale to the Giga CXY Tipper. New faces IAL welcomed some new faces this year, with Steven Goulding stepping into the position of National Fleet Sales Manager and Nic Topping taking on the role of Product Development Manager. Mr Goulding has worked with Isuzu for many years as a customer, and said he was excited to see things “from the other side of the fence.” IAL also extended a welcoming hand to Telematics Business Manager Grant Cooper, whose telematics expertise will bolster IAL’s strong foundation in an area which will only grow as we move towards the trucking future. Ready to Work Servicepack Following an overwhelmingly positive response to the NLR Servicepack after its launch in 2016, Isuzu was excited to announce additional models of the Servicepack range of Ready to Work light duty trucks. The new models continue Isuzu’s commitment to meeting the growing needs of modern tradespeople and specialist contractors.
