Nearly three decades of market domination in Australia has been hard-won for Isuzu Trucks and their dedicated national dealer network. Therefore, selecting a single dealership for National Dealer Award has been no easy feat.
The coveted award was announced last month in Melbourne at the launch of the new Isuzu F Series range.
Isuzu Truck dealers from all over Australia converged on Melbourne to get all the detail on the new model range, and to find out which dealership would walk away with the sought-after prize.
2014 saw the addition of a new ‘Truck Dealer of the Year’ accolade to recognise excellent performance across every aspect of an Isuzu dealership’s operation.
This year’s annual Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) ‘Truck Dealer of the Year’ award was awarded to Tony Ireland Isuzu, based in Townsville, Queensland.
When accepting his top award for the second year in a row, Dealer Principal Tony Ireland said the secret to his dealership’s success is faithful staff who keep the customer priority number one.
“I’m incredibly humbled to have achieved this award two years in a row. I have really dedicated staff who are passionate about the Isuzu brand and they live that passion and enthusiasm every day with our customers,” Mr Ireland said.
“I thought we had performed at least as well as last year but expected another Isuzu Dealership could have leapfrogged us. The competition is pretty close at the top of the field,” Mr Ireland said.
Now looking towards another successful year at the dealership, Dealer Principal Tony Ireland is keeping his cards close to his chest.
“We have identified three key areas that we can improve year on year. Naturally the last thing I will do is tell you what they are!” Mr Ireland said.
IAL Business Planning Manager and Company Secretary, Paul Evans said the award served to highlight the many hours put in by dealerships and provides real incentive for them to improve their customer service at every level.
The evaluation criteria included areas such as presentation standards, customer care, training attendance, inventory management and activity-based KPI measurements.
“To win this award, the team must excel in every area, no matter their size or sales volume, and Tony and his team are great exponents of these values,” Mr Evans said.
“Customer service is a fundamental component of Isuzu’s success in the industry and with these awards, we encourage dealerships to better their services, so that the customers can really benefit.”
“We congratulate Tony and his dedicated team in Townsville on another great year.”
