Isuzu's Tradepack the Jack of all Trades

Feb 21, 2018 0min read

Keeping a watchful eye over the evolving needs of the Australian transport industry, Isuzu has specifically designed the Ready-to-Work range to meet the requirements of local businesses now, and in the future.

But what does the average tradie need? Reliability, capability and versatility are the ingredients to any successful business, but they’re also the hallmarks of a proven workhorse in the Isuzu Ready-to-Work range – the highly successful NPR 45/55-155 Tradepack. Building on the hugely popular Isuzu NPR 45/55-155, and following in the legacy of the first Tradepack model released back in 2003, the NPR Tradepack is efficient and nimble with impressive strength and capacity. With the flexibility of either a short or medium wheelbase, the Tradepack’s been designed to meet the diverse requirements of modern tradies. The short wheelbase model includes a 3.45-metre-long heavy duty aluminium tray and still maintains a turning circle tighter than many of the best-selling utilities on the market, while the medium wheelbase model’s tray is a huge 4.5 metres long, offering growing businesses even greater storage space. With a choice of either a 4,500 kg GVM rating for car licence operation, or a 5,500 kg GVM rating for increased payload, and the capable 5.2 Litre Isuzu 4HK1-TCN engine producing 114 kW @ 2,600 rpm and 419 Nm @ 1,600 – 2,600 rpm, the Tradepack has the combination of power and capacity to be the king of the building site. But for those looking for maximum flexibility, with a short wheelbase option, the Tradepack can still be parked in the local hardware carpark or a standard residential parking space. Isuzu’s also cut out the hassle of waiting for a body-builder thanks to the factory fitted and Isuzu warranted body, getting you back to the job site as soon as possible. In fact, every aspect of the Tradepack has been purpose built with the busy, ambitious tradie in mind. With a newly-designed genuine Isuzu bullbar, 3,500 kg rated towbar, heavy duty galvanised ladder racks, integrated load restraint anchor points, removable drop sides and rear tailgate, headboard including rear window protector, and Isuzu satellite navigation and reversing camera fitted as standard, the Tradepack comes ready to work in more ways than one. The Isuzu 45-155 Tradepack can even be driven on a car licence – so business owners have the maximum flexibility among their driving workforce – but it retains all the power and lugging capacity people expect from Australia’s highest selling truck manufacturer. The Tradepack’s car-like driving experience is provided by either Isuzu’s smooth-shifting MYY-6E 6-speed manual, or the Premium model’s 6-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) with both fully clutchless and manual operation modes, offering sophistication and fuel efficiency. The Premium model also comes standard in a striking silver cab colour, with cruise control, a foldaway rear access step, an underbody mounted, powder-coated lockable storage box and 23L water tank with soap dispenser. Isuzu’s first priority is ensuring that, while the Tradepack feels and drives like a car, it always offers you the on-road safety and protection of a tough, well-built truck. The Tradepack also offers a stack of safety features, with Anti-lock Braking (ABS), Anti Skid Regulator (ASR) traction control and Isuzu Electronic Stability Control (IESC) – which automatically detects and helps correct an unexpected loss of control. Isuzu’s Chief Engineer, Product Strategy, Simon Humphries, said the NPR Tradepack is a great vehicle for any business that has outgrown their ute and wants to get serious. “The Tradepack’s a robust all-rounder, and the perfect fit for an expanding business,” Mr. Humphries said. “With the versatility of a short wheelbase, it’s the same size as a standard diesel utility, but has a far greater payload and the enhanced towing capacity of a 3,500 kg rated towbar. “Meanwhile, the medium wheelbase, while still agile, offers extra-space for those high-capacity jobs. “The Tradepack’s guts and storage ability means you’ll never have to decide what you take to a jobsite again.”
