The Isuzu Trucks brand is synonymous with product reliability and application specificity. In the three consecutive decades of Australian truck market leadership, answering business demand in providing fit-for-purpose products has been a key Isuzu strength. As operators across the construction, freight, waste, trade and essential service industries push to meet demand amidst a challenging landscape, Isuzu has released the brand-new NMR 60/45-150 N Series models to provide yet another tailored road transport solution. Practicality, strength, performance Responding to an increasing demand for a light-duty, narrow cab, cab-chassis truck models with increased payload capacity and ease of driving, the all-new NMR 60/45-150 meets the need, adding an additional 500 kg payload and the availability of a two-pedal option to the model it replaces, the NLR 55-150. The boosted payload coupled with compact overall dimensions offers versatility and flexibility for operators navigating tight city streets, loading bays and laneways. The NMR offers operators optimum payload efficiency with all the access and manoeuvrability of the smaller, lighter N Series models. The NMR model is available in two GVM ratings: 4,500 kg and 6,000 kg. The model’s versatility is showcased in its car licence 4,500 kg GVM variant, enabling businesses to utilise a range of driving abilities. Operators will also enjoy additional payload capacity with the 6,000 kg GVM NMR variant, adding a 500 kg payload up-tick on Isuzu’s popular NLR 55-150 model. Powered by the highly regarded Isuzu 4JJ1-TCS diesel engine, rated at 110 kW @ 2,800 rpm and 375 Nm @ 1,600–2,800 rpm, the new NMR offers a combination of performance, fuel economy and durability. Best of both worlds Available in both short (2,490 mm) and medium (3,360 mm) wheelbase formats, the NMR is available with Isuzu’s torque converter–automated manual transmission (TC-AMT). As far as light-duty truck transmissions go, Isuzu’s well-honed TC-AMT continues to be a standout. It has been specifically designed and calibrated to deal with increased payloads, translating to improved component durability and parts longevity. Two-pedal driver operation is simple and user-friendly, although the behind-the-scenes benefits of the TC-AMT, including reduced wear and tear and increased fuel savings, are where the advantages shine through. Seeing safety clearly Long renowned for its excellent driver visibility and safety, Isuzu’s narrow cabin design delivers again on the NMR format, offering exceptional ergonomics, class-leading frontal and sideways driver visibility, as well as the driver comfort features and safety features operators expect from Isuzu. Like all other 4x2 configuration Isuzu N Series models sold in Australia, the new NMR 60/45-150 range features standard driver and passenger side airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, ECE-R29 compliant cab, electric and heated mirrors, front cornering lamps, four-wheel disc brakes with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Isuzu Electronic Stability Control (IESC) and anti-skid regulator (ASR). Born to ride The cherry on top of this Isuzu package is the inclusion of Independent Front Suspension (IFS) with coil springs on the NMR 60/45-150 models. Currently a key feature of multiple other Isuzu N Series models in both cabin sizes, Isuzu’s IFS provides stabilisation regardless of load, ensuring the ride is predictable and assured, especially through cornering and over undulating ground. Driver fatigue, road shock and body-roll are all proven to be significantly reduced with the addition of IFS, a trait often sought after by ute drivers looking to upgrade. More for less Be it construction and excavation, freight and delivery or a myriad of trade applications, the new NMR 60/45-150 models deliver more productivity not only from a payload standpoint, but also from ease of use and manoeuvrability—regardless of the task at hand. With the coming together of class-leading features and components, the NMR is an excellent example of the complete ‘Isuzu package’, with more bang for buck and more targeted features and efficiencies than ever before. The NMR 60/45-150 is available from June 2020 across the Isuzu Trucks dealer network. For your nearest Isuzu Trucks dealership, click here.
