Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) is delighted to announce the appointment of John Walker as its new Head of Marketing and Customer Experience.

Mr Walker has been elevated to the role after having served two years as IAL’s Digital Marketing Manager, working across a range of digital transformation and customer projects. IAL Director and Chief Executive Officer, Phil Taylor, said Mr Walker’s promotion was a strategic move to further strengthen the organisation’s strong marketing and communications offering. “John’s been central in our continuing push to better deal with and understand our customers. Over the last few years, he’s proven to be a genuine and valuable asset to the organisation,” Mr Taylor said. “We’ve worked hard to evolve the way we interact with our customers and service their needs. And in John’s promotion, I’m confident we can go from strength to strength in this area.” With a storied background in marketing, across brands such as telecommunications provider Optus Business (catering to enterprise and government) and national technology services provider Anittel, Mr Walker is experienced in national brand management, digital operations, customer relations management, and integrated multichannel customer programs. Thrilled at the opportunity to spearhead IAL’s marketing, Mr Walker outlined the new direction in IAL’s marketing approach. Mr Walker shared, “I’m really excited about the opportunities ahead, especially to re-evaluate our customers’ key requirements and how they engage with us, what with the changing nature of the Australian freight task. “With regard to customer engagement and touchpoint processes, the automotive and transport industry is currently behind other industries’ best practice standards. When you consider industries like banking and contemporary retail, customers not only demand greater levels of personalisation, but also timely and meaningful communication from their favourite brands.” Mr Walker’s time as Digital Marketing Manager has brought great change, something he’s determined to further develop and build on. “Over the last two years at IAL, we’ve been focused on evolving our digital customer engagement. This includes website, automation, content production, social media interaction, online advertising, and other customer-focused projects. Moving forward we’ll continue to develop and expand these customer experience programs across the business to ensure best practice,” Mr Walker said. Mr Walker’s appointment comes as IAL heads towards an unprecedented three consecutive decades of truck market leadership. Needless to say, Mr Walker believes this is an exciting time to be on team Isuzu and opined, “Isuzu has long been known for its unwavering focus on its customers and industry-leading products. It’s this approach that has gotten us to this position, and we’ll continue to evolve and refine this customer first mantra into the next chapter of Isuzu marketing.”
