MARCH 2020 TRUCK OF THE YEAR ENTRANTS

Mar 31, 2020 0min read
It sure has been a challenging start to the year, and our spirit is tested by the ongoing COVID-19 situation. But it’s always heartening to see continuing community support and solidarity. And even in these uncertain times, it’s truly fair to say trucking never stops. We are forever grateful to our truckies and road transport operators that are working overtime keeping the nation moving—providing essential goods and services to each and every one of us. With that in mind, we continue to bring you Isuzu’s Truck of the Year competition, recognising the amazing businesses and service providers out there getting things done. This month, we congratulate The Grassfather Landscapes and their NPR 45-155 Tradepack as the monthly winner for March 2020! The Grassfather Landscapes takes away $300 worth of Isuzu Trucks merchandise and goes in the running for King of the N Series—each Series winner will receive a $1,000 Visa cash card! Of course, all monthly winners also go into the draw for the ultimate Truck of the Year Grand Prize, which will see the winner walk away with a $6,000 Visa cash card. If you missed out on entering, don’t worry—Truck of the Year will be back in April, so be sure to enter your truck! Click here to see the full terms and conditions of the competition. THE GRASSFATHER LANDSCAPES The GrassFather Landscapes knows how to make an offer you can’t refuse with their NPR 45-155 Tradepack with automated manual transmission (AMT). This eye-catching Tradepack with arresting black and gold wrap ensures this business is one not to be missed. And with the payload and extra tray space available to carry machinery and custom toolboxes, the Tradepack makes a big impact helping the landscaping business supply their services efficiently (and memorably) to their customers. Ryan from The GrassFather said, “The overall functionality of this truck is what makes it a prized possession and a one-stop shop for any tradie!” BPC PROJECTS You’d be hard-pressed to not appreciate the unique way BPC Projects makes use of their heavy-duty FYJ 300-350. This heavy hauler carts a mobile concrete batch plant, allowing BPC Projects to keep on top of all their concreting jobs for commercial building clients. “We’re so glad we chose an Isuzu for the job,” says BPC’s Catherine Sutton. “It’s reliable and an absolute dream to drive and operate.” YP RIMSHINE Helping to keep the chrome rims of South Australia’s truck fleet looking spiffy, YP Rimshine uses their nifty NLR 45-150 Servicepack to deliver a mobile trim and wheel polishing service. According to owner, Grant Stott, Isuzu’s Servicepack is the perfect size for all their cleaning equipment, and the fully lockable gull-wing doors ensure the equipment’s always safely secured, especially when they’re out visiting customers. LYON AUTOMOTIVE PTY LTD Lyon Automotive has one goal in mind: to keep customers moving with on-the-spot mechanical repairs and servicing, including a 24-hour breakdown service. With the sort of work that they do, Managing Director, Benn Lyon, needs reliability in his equipment to keep his business on the road. To make sure they’re not having more downtime than necessary, Lyon’s invested in Isuzu trucks for his fleet, which includes a versatile N Series model to transport parts and equipment promptly to his clients. So far, the truck hasn’t let him down. “It’s very nimble and performs well to keep up with traffic,” says Benn. “We’re able to get into tight areas and have the extra payload to get our gear to where we need to be.” BEN HASTINGS TREE SERVICE Ben Hastings Tree Service love their rugged FTS 750 (FTS 139-260), which accommodates an 18 m3 mulch bin, a chipper and an excavator—and all with payload to spare for a full load. Owner and operator, Ben Hastings, says the 4x4 truck is capable of tackling jobs onsite in any ground condition, giving his team an all-access pass to deliver arborist and tree lopping work. Ben said, “The advantage this truck gives me over the competition is incredible!” KOR EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS In the business of providing waste extraction and high-pressure cleaning equipment, KOR Equipment Solutions takes their work very seriously. They chose the robust, medium-duty FVD 165-300 mounted with an industrial Cappellotto vacuum/jetting unit – to get the job done. “It’s a match made in heaven”, said KOR’s Joel Robins. “Using Isuzu trucks as a foundation allows KOR to supply customers with a flawless, end-to-end package.” And in addition to the smart looking unit having an impressive payload, Joel noted that the FVD 165-300 is compact with great manoeuvrability, perfect for navigating the tight alleyways of Melbourne’s CBD.   Want to take a look back at 2019’s Truck of the Year winners?
